Already an essential aquisition for any set, the 1954 Bowman Ted Williams is compounded by an exclusive contract with Topps for 1954, which forced Bowman to replace the Splinter soon after its release, swapping Jim Piersall into that #66 spot and creating this short-printed card, one of the tougher singles for a mainstream 1950s set.

The PSA VG-EX 4 grade reflects its slight corner rounding, light mark on the lower right corner, and faint wax residue on the reverse. (Wax residue proves that these cards did go into packs and out to distribution, something that past hobbyists had debated.) Ted's impressionistic portrait remains its best feature, accentuated by that classic signature. As accessible as they get for such a special card!
