Extraordinary 6" x 9 1/8" booklet titled "Luck to the Cleveland Buckeyes," an eight-page booklet with a scorecard bound into the centerfold with a staple. The Buckeyes were a solid team that made it to the Negro World Series, losing to the New York Cubans in five games. This scorecard, for a game against the Memphis Red Sox, appears to have been a 4-3 Buckeyes victory. Buckeyes players include George Minor, Archie Ware, Sam Jethroe, Joe Atkins, Willie Grace, Al Smith, Johnnie Cowan, Quincy Trouppe, and pitcher Chet Brewer, with additional names written in - either pinch-hitters, defensive replacements, or simply corrections in the day's lineup. Memphis players include George Handy, Spoon Carter, Pedro Formental, Bob Boyd, Jose Colas, Neil Robinson, Red Longley, and TJ Brown, with similar substitutions. GOOD condition with edge tears, creasing and wrinkling throughout. An outstanding document of the later days of the Negro Leagues, including a scorecard dotted with names that would soon be playing Major League Baseball.
