Important card from a 44-card subset within the 900-card "Segundas" set, distributed in Cuba in 1924 and 1925 with Aguilitas cigarettes.  Of the issue's 44 baseball subjects, 28 are enshrined in the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame. This example pictures Dick Lundy, a Florida-born shortstop who played in the Negro Leagues well into the 1930s. Also a successful manager, Lundy was considered one of the best players in Negro League history, ranked by Bill James as the Negro Leagues' third-greatest shortstop (behind Pop Lloyd and Willie Wells). He was among the 39 players considered for the Hall of Fame in 2006, but fell short of the required 75% vote. Lundy's Negro League stats include a .331 lifetime batting average and .393 on base percentage. He played several seasons in the Cuban Winter League, earning him an appearance in the Segundas issue, his only known playing days card.

This example has been graded VG/EX 4 by SGC, a sharp and clean specimen, which is unusual for any Cuban issue. The image quality is extremely strong, boasting excellent contrast and very little surface wear. Scarcity is unquestionable; SGC has graded just 13 examples, only two higher than this.
