Milt Nielsen's a classic guy whose PCL skills never quite translated to the MLB level, as his cups of coffee with Cleveland yielded a single hit in 15 at-bats. He garnered more attention in San Diego, as the Hage's set includes no less than three variations, with this one called his "pose," which happens to be an ad back for the dairy.

The SGC VG-EX 4 rating reflects excellent centering and good print quality, with one smudge and chipped corner at lower right holding it back from higher scores. Rarity counts for a lot when evaluating Hage's cards, as the combined SGC/PSA population reports show just two confirmed "pose" examples, with this being its highest graded! Milt will be a key addition for any PCL collection and of particular interest to those seeking Hage's ads on the reverse.

Hage's Dairy of Southern California sponsored regional card sets from 1949-51, offered at concession stands for Lane Field Park, home of the PCL San Diego Padres. Most came packaged with popcorn and it's possible others entered the hobby via company or team promotions. 1950 singles prove tough indeed to find, as the PSA population report counts 66 total graded for its 128-player checklist. All 1950 cards come with black-and-white fronts and use similar text size for player and team names, distinguishing it from Hage's other years.
