"Hot Rod" Hundley was one of basketball's early showmen and personalities. After starring in college at West Virginia, Hundley was the first overall pick of the 1957 NBA draft and became a two-time NBA-All Star, playing for the Minneapolis and Los Angeles Lakers. After his playing career "Hot Rod" moved to broadcasting, doing both color commentary and play-by-play, becoming a fixture with the Utah Jazz from 1974 until his retirement in 2009. Presented here is Hundley's classic 1961 Fleer Basketball issue. Take note of the short-lived Lakers giraffe mascot pictured on the card! Card has graded a PSA 3 with the signature, applied in bold marker, earning a perfect GEM MINT 10 from PSA/DNA. Hundley passed away in 2015. A true gem for Lakers and Jazz collectors or anyone putting together a run of signed 1961 Fleer Basketball.
