Though a tiny pinhole in the top border reduces the technical grade of this 1889 card of catcher Cal Broughton, the image quality is spectacular, with outstanding clarity. Broughton played in 142 games for the St. Paul Apostles of the Western Association between 1888 and 1889, and was rewarded with five different cards in the Old Judge issue. The technical grade relates almost entirely to the pinhole, though some soiling on the reverse contributes slightly as well. A handwritten notation appears on the back, resulting in the MK qualifier.
