Hall of Famer Clark Griffith is depicted pitching the ball in his Yankees uniform something he stopped doing in 1907. By 1916 the year this M101-4 blank backed card was issued Griffith had been manager of the Senators for four seasons and had not thrown a pitch in an organized game for two. That did not stop the Felix Mendelsohn company from producing this card of Griffith however listing him as the Senators manager despite the photo. Graded VG 40 by SGC the card is subject to overall wear but no real major flaws - an attractive example from a very interesting issue.
