Catcher/outfielder Joe Gunson played four major league seasons with five teams, stretched out over ten years. He is pictured here with the Kansas City Blues of the Western Association, where he would spend part of the 1888 season, plus 1889 and 1890. The card has received a grade of VG+ 3.5, due almost entirely to corner wear that is just moderate enough to keep it from a VG-EX holder. The image quality is strong, however, with above average contrast, particularly for an 1888 card.
