In grading terms the difference between a "9" and a "10" is often imperceptible. Such is the case with this 1954 Red Man card of beloved Dodgers shortstop "Pee Wee" Reese which has been graded MINT 9 by PSA. Given their method of distribution it is difficult to fathom that a MINT-graded Red Man card could have possibly even been pulled from a package in 1954 much less survived in this state and yet this card serves as proof. Flawless color and registration perfect corners and edges no issues with centering. Indeed of 96 examples of this card graded by PSA as of this writing this is the sole example to have achieved a grade this high with none higher. An SGC MINT 96 example exists as well the sole example of 40 graded to have attained that level. Further PSA has graded nearly 2 900 cards from the 1954 Red Man set and just 45 have received a grade of MINT 9 (along with two to reach the GEM MINT 10 level).
