At first glance the sharpness and crispness of this image of Hall of Fame pitcher Robin Roberts leads the viewer to believe that s/he is looking at a photograph. The card is simply perfection with vivid gloss and virtually no wear despite the card's dark blue background. The graders at PSA evidently felt similarly assigning this the lofty grade of MINT 9 due to its virtual perfection the only Robin Roberts card to have reached that level by either grading company.
