Spectacularly sharp and bold rookie card of Hall of Famer Tris Speaker. Though many Hall of Famers were popular enough to have earned multiple T206 card poses, "The Gray Eagle" has just this one, picturing him about to swing at an incoming pitch.  Speaker batted .309 in his first full season of 1909, and that would be the lowest batting average he would post for a decade. Speaker's lifetime batting average of .3447 is good for #9 all-time; he is unquestionably one of the deadball era's more underrated players.  Still, his T206 card remains immensely popular, and this is a fine example.  Bright and colorful with four square corners, the image quality is robust and the color rich and deep. A L-R centering issue keeps the card from a higher holder, but it remains one of the most visually pleasing examples we have handled.
