Collection of five Type I photographs from the lens of Charles Martin Conlon, each featuring a member of the Gashouse Gang Cardinals of the 1930's. All measure 6.5" x 8.5"with Conlon's handwritten notations on reverse, including an identification of the depicted player at the top and Conlon's signature at the bottom edge. Corners remain gently rounded but all photos appear free of visible handling wear so common to others of this type. Two of the photos (Mize, Padgett) do display some streaking of the emulsion layer but this is only visible when tilted towards a light source. Incredibly, these five are among 12 photos in our current auction known to have been in the possession of Charles Conlon at the time of his death. Collection includes: 1) Johnny Mize 2) Johnny Mize 3) Pepper Martin 4) Don Padgett 5) Daffy Dean.
