After two seasons with Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics, the Georgia Peach retired from professional baseball at 41 years old, almost exactly one year prior to this image being captured on October 1, 1929. According to the affixed paper caption on verso "...he is sure that the diamond will not lure him again." 6" x 8" photo presents beautifully with a clean surface and just a touch of abrasion to the lower-left corner.
