Issued two years after the company's error-ridden modern debut, the 1983 Fleer issue represented significant growth in product quality, and in many ways hailed the onset of "premium" cards.  At the time, the 1983 Fleer issue was considered a landmark for design and quality, and was favored by many collectors over a Topps brand that, in the eyes of some, had grown old and stale.  The Fleer player selection was outstanding, the set including many innovative multi-player cards, along with clear, colorful photography.

While the cards are by no means scarce today, offered here is an outstanding collecting achievement - a complete, 660-card autographed set (with no signatures on checklists).  Loaded with Hall of Famers and stars, the cards are perfect for autographs, with sharp photography and a clearly-defined border area framing each card, creating a natural palette for signing. The majority of the cards in this set have been signed in blue Sharpie, each signature clean and bold with very few smudges or ink skips throughout.  This is an heirloom-quality set, a complete document of late 1970s/early 1980s baseball, bearing the signatures of all the game's finest players - and many of its forgotten ones as well.  Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.  660 cards total.
