Hassan Cigarettes' "Triple Folder" cards are among the most beautiful yet among the most underrated prewar issues. Each card features a crisp black and white action photo flanked by colorful player images. The card reverses include well-written biographical and historical information. Despite their beauty the cards have never received the sort of mainstream interest generated by T206 or T205 for instance. Perhaps it is the cards' large size or the fact that virtually all the surviving examples are creased at the side panels or as is the case with this example down the middle of the central image. Still this example featuring the great Ty Cobb graded VG 40 by SGC boasts strong eye appeal despite the aforementioned crease and some slight print registration issues.
