The 1915 E106 set is essentially a reissue of poses found in the earlier
E 90-2 and E 92 sets., with several team changes made. While not as popular as some of the earlier caramel issues, E106 cards
are difficult to obtain. They came out an an opportune
time and are noteworthy for
referencing the upstart Federal League.
This example features a brilliantly colorful background behind an action shot of the New York third baseman finishing his throw across the diamond. Centered just a hair southeast on the canvas, the corners are consistent with the grade. The edges present a bit nicer, though a crease in the lower left corner keeps this one from grading higher than it already has.
PSA
has only ever graded 14 total examples of this E106, with only four receiving a higher grade than the VG 3 offered here of New York's Hans Lobert.
