One of 16 team cards issued in tins of Fatima cigarettes in 1913, the
T200 team cards are beautiful representations of eight American and
eight National League teams. Extremely difficult to find in even mid
grades, the cards were printed on flimsy photographic paper and are
extremely subject to wrinkling, chipping, and damage to the gold borders
of the cards. Further, due to the fact that they were team photographs,
they are also frequently found with border trimming.
This example is the Chicago Cubs issue from the set. Centering is just east on the canvas when viewing the card horizontally, as it is meant to be viewed. Some edge wear particularly at the top and bottom edges, as well as soft corners are consistent with the grade, but this is still a gorgeously bold example with great contrast and tremendous eye appeal featuring multiple Hall of Famers.
SGC has only ever graded 111 total
examples of this 1913 T200, with only forty-six receiving a higher grade
than the Good 2 offered here of the Chicago Cubs
