Topps had been on the sidelines of producing basketball cards since 1957, but the entry of rookie Lew Alcindor (now known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) from UCLA into the NBA in 1969 was one of the forces at work to get them back in the game. These "tall boy" style cards are a favorite among collectors and the Alcindor rookie, presented here in a strong PSA 7, is the centerpiece of the set. One of the iconic cards of the hobby, this one is a "must have" in any hoop collection. Bright and clean, with sharp corners and a crisp image, centering is just a tad to the left, as is so often the case with cards in this issue.
