Dockman & Sons was one of several brands captured in the E92 universe and are difficult
to track down today. Issued in 1909, the illustrations from the set are well-rendered and the cards are quite colorful.
This familiar image of Hall of Famer Honus Wagner in his "batting" pose graces the front of this E92 issue. The "batting" pose is featured on many
different card issues (E90-1, E101, E102, E105, and all the different
E92 issues) that it is forgivable to not realize how scarce the E92
Wagner actually is; PSA has graded just 59 examples with the Dockman & Sons back, with certain other backs even more scarce than that.
This
example is centered just north and east on the canvas, though a slight diagonal top cut makes it seem pushed farther north than it actually is. Corner and edge wear, surface wear, and some creasing contribute to the Poor 1 grade assigned by PSA, though the scarcity of this issue far outweighs any cosmetic flaws on this example.
