Charles "Charley" Bassett played Second Base for the Indianapolis Hoosiers of the National League from 1887 through 1889, collecting 337 hits in 374 games for the team over that span. Bassett is featured on just two different poses in the N172 set, and while each has a low graded population, this is the tougher of the two. The image on the front depicts the Indianapolis infielder with a bat in his hands, at the ready at a 60-degree angle.
The
text is dark and bold, and the image itself is also very nice. While a couple of the corners are a bit rounded and some of the edges have minor chipping, the card image is of primary importance here, and not minor condition issues. The only example of this 1887 N172 Old Judge which PSA has graded, a tough pose with a strong image.
