Original c.1910's portrait photo of Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Fame outfielder Fred Clarke. Clarke has been photographed by J.R. Schmidt's photo syndicate out of Cincinnati, OH and verso bears his credit stamping. Paul Thompson stamping also appears but it's likely his syndicate acquired the photo from Schmidt after the fact. Despite apearing slightly out of focus this remains a striking portrait of Clarke with interesting period details like the early collared uniform top and custom vent holes cut into his low-profile cap. Photo surface remains clean but all four corners display some degree of heavy chipping and wear. Measures approx. 6.5" x 8.5" and includes full LOA from PSA/DNA.
