Several years ago a photo surfaced in the hobby depicting the 1909 New York Giants sporting their cold weather gear.  Incredibly, the photo served as the basis for ELEVEN individual T206 cards depicting Giants players from the shoulders and above. Shot during the same sitting as the T206-related photo, the offered 7.25" x 9.5" example has creatively been updated to depict the 1911 iteration of the New York Giants. Clearly a composite photo made from several images joined together, faces of players that were absent or joined the team since the 1909 image was shot have been cut and pasted onto the bodies of those no longer with the club. The added faces include: Beals Becker, Louis Druke, Art Fletcher, and Grover Hartley. Additionally, the team has been carefully placed in front of a new background consistent with that of the Polo Grounds late in 1911 (facade of the second deck is a giveaway), replacing the 1909 grandstand that burned down early in the 1911 campaign. Sepia toned photo includes handwritten identifiers of the players at the bottom, with a Pictorial News Co. credit in the lower-right corner. Photo is mounted to heavy board with visible creasing along the top edge and obvious heavy chipping and rounding present to all four corners. Verso remains blank with liquid staining in the upper-right corner.
