Trio of ticket stubs to all three games of the 1948 World Series played at Braves Field in Boston. The Game 6 stub is a "deciding game" stub, the final game of the series in which the Cleveland Indians won, 4-3. Collection includes: 1) Game 1: Boston's 1-0 win was a pitcher's duel between Johnny Sain and Bob Feller, with Phil Masi scoring the game's lone run on a Tommy Holmes single immediately after Masi was called safe on a debatable pickoff at second base. Masi passed away in 1990, and in his will he revealed that he was really out on the play. EX condition. 2) Game 2: Hall of Famers Bob Lemon and Warren Spahn faced off in Game 2, a 4-1 Cleveland win. GOOD condition with some wear. 3) Game 6: Heading back to Boston with a 3-2 advantage, the Indians sent Bob Lemon back to the mound. Boston scored two runs in the bottom of the 8th on a Phil Masi double to pull within 4-3, but Gene Bearden pitched a scoreless ninth inning. Thus far, it was the last World Series won by Cleveland. VG condition. Three stubs total.
