Pair of ticket stubs from the 1947 World Series between the Yankees and the Dodgers, significant because 1947 was Jackie Robinson's rookie season and thus this was the first World Series where a Black player took the field.  Collection includes: 1) Game 4: Ebbets Field stub.  A historically important game, Yankee starter Bill Bevens took a no-hitter into the 9th inning, despite struggling with his control the entire game (he would walk 10 batters and give up a run in the 5th).  With a 2-1 lead, Cookie Lavagetto would pinch-hit for Eddie Stanky and hit a two-run double, winning the game for Brooklyn.  Stub is in POOR condition with considerable paper loss and creasing.  2) Game 6: Yankee Stadium stub.  Down 3-2, the Dodgers scored four runs in the 6th inning, Joe DiMaggio famously kicking the dirt as Al Gionfriddo made a game saving catch just in front of the left-field fence.  Red Barber called it "probably the only time ever that DiMaggio was publicly and visibly upset."  The Dodgers' 8-6 win forced a game 7 (which the Yankees would win).  POOR condition with significant creasing and wear.  Two stubs total.
