Rare 1933 image of George Herman "Babe" Ruth at the Yankees spring facility in St. Petersburg, FL. Ruth famously began his major league career as a pitcher in 1915 and later transitioned to a full-time outfielder after the 1919 season. Here, Ruth is depicted training with a first baseman's glove, a position he played only 32 times across the entirety of his time in Major League Baseball. 6.5" x 8.5" photo remains vintage and of the era but has been created from a duplicate negative. Duplicate negatives are created by photographing an existing photo, with the resulting negative then used to create a print, such as the offered example. Some typical light creasing is present at the corners with brown tape residue present along the top edge. Large credit stamping from International has been applied to verso with a paper caption below providing context to the image. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type 3 photo by PSA/DNA.
