The 1921 National Caramel set featured 120 cards of 115 different
players, and was issued over a two-year span to eager kids across a
large swath of America. The player selection includes an excellent
roster of Hall of Famers.
New York's Vernon Spencer is the
subject
of this example, graded Authentic by SGC due to the minimum size requirements not being met. There is also a wet sheet transfer on the reverse, lightly showing behind the normal text which would regularly appear there. Regardless of the grade, the
scarcity of this issue far outweighs any cosmetic flaws on
this example.
SGC has only ever graded 7 total examples of this E220,
with only four receiving a higher grade than the Authentic offered here of New York's Vernon Spencer.
