Excellent early scorecard from the June 15, 1874 Harvard vs. Yale baseball game, one of two games between the rivals that season, both won by Yale after a long dry spell. This scorecard has clearly seen better days, having separated at the fold. Each piece measures approximately 5 5/8" x 4 1/4" and is clearly scored in pencil. The halves were once displayed in a scrapbook, so paper remnants can be seen on the reverse of both. Still, an important early document that includes an appearance by Harvard's Jim Tyng, who three years after this game would become the first baseball player to wear a catcher's mask.
