Though the name "Jack Dempsey" in boxing connotes one of the great heavyweights of all time, it is Jack "Nonpareil" Dempsey, first holder of the World Middleweight Championship depicted on this beautiful N174 Old Judge. Obtaining his nickname due to a reputation for being unbeatable, "Nonpareil" posted a 51-4-11 record. One of the most famous fighters of his day, the Irish native who resided in Brooklyn was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1992. Graded VG 3, this script series card exhibits corner and edge wear, along with some age-related discoloration at the edges.  Light image fading is also evident.
