Heinie Manush was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1964, after seventeen year major league career that took some time for the voters in Cooperstown to assimilate. 1939 would prove to be his last season and his Play Ball card shows a player who looks like he's seen it all.  The card itself is VG-EX, a PSA 4 but a nice one to our eyes.  He's signed it in a dark blue ink, with an interesting forward leaning slashed look defining the autograph.  PSA/DNA has graded it NM-MT 8 due to some light ink flow seen in a couple of the letters.  Manush passed away in 1971, rendering his signature difficult on cards, particularly cards from his playing days. The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail.
