Jack Knott toiled for some terrible American League teams across eleven big league seasons, with three years given to the military during World War 2, starting out as a reliever with the Browns before a trade to the White Sox saw him converted to a starter by the time Play Ball put him in their 1939 set. He passed away in 1981 and is not the easiest of autographs. This is a PSA Authentic card with reverse scrapbook damage, signed in dark blue ink, a PSA/DNA MINT 9 in grade due to some minor ink flow issues in the "J" of his first name. It's a superb autograph, difficult to obtain due to Knott's 1981 passing.   Some paper loss and scrapbook residue appear on the reverse.  The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail.
