A career New York Giant, "Prince Hal" Schumacher was a bit of a secret weapon for Gotham, operating as he did in the shadow of Carl Hubbell. He fashioned a fine major league record and was a key member of their 1933 World Series winning squad. He's signed this 1939 Play Ball in blue ink, with an elongated and unique lstyle to his autograph, graded PSA/DNA MINT 9 for its superb look.  Paper loss and remnants are visible on the reverse, the result of scrapbook removal by the family of the original collector.  The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail.
