Gorgeous signed card of Johnny Hudson, then an infielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers. The team's starting second baseman in 1938, Hudson's defense may have moved him back to the bench. He continued after retirement as a scout for the Giants right up until his death in 1970, at just 58 years old. His signature has been elegantly applied to this 1940 Play Ball card, rating a perfect GEM MINT 10 with PSA//DNA. The card itself has been graded VG-EX 4. The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail.
