Outstanding 1915 Zeenut PCL card featuring third baseman Fred McMullen just four years prior to his involvement in the 1919 Black Sox scandal, where despite being a reserve player, he threatened to report his conspiring teammates unless he was included in the fix. McMullen was banned from organized baseball following the scandal, never speaking publicly about his involvement. While all Zeenut cards are highly sought-after, those featuring Black Sox players are especially so, sparking spirited bidding whenever they are offered. This example has been graded GOOD 2 by SGC, due to overall wear, with a visible moisture stain at the left edge and upper-left corner. Still, a very highly prized card, one of the keys to the issue.
Note: it should be noted that this is McMullen's only card, so there is extremely high demand for it in any grade. Collectors who desire to own one card of every Black Sox player need this card!
