Red Sox Hall of Fame centerfielder Tris Speaker poses for an anonymous photographer in this 6.5" x 8" Type 1 photo. Based upon Marc Okkonen's pioneering research into uniform histories, this images likely hails from the 1910-11, or quite possibly spring training in 1912. Handwriting on both front and verso identify Speaker by last name only and verso remains otherwise blank, though remnants of affixed paper labels and evidence of being peeled from a mount are visible. Image quality is superb with "The Grey Eagle's" facial features and uniform fully detailed. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
Note: further research has isolated this image to 1911 as it is consistent with several other portraits of Red Sox players shot while in Redondo Beach, CA during the spring that season.
