Hall of Famers Tris Speaker and Harry Hooper were joined by fellow Red Sox great, Duffy Lewis in forming what would become affectionately known as "The Million Dollar Outfield." Together the slick fielding trio patrolled the outfield for the 1910-15 Boston Red Sox, helping to capture World Series titles in both 1912 and 1915. By 1916 Speaker had moved on to Cleveland with Hooper and Lewis remaining to capture yet another World Series championship with the Sox that very season. This original Type 1 photo of perhaps the Deadball Era's finest outfield combination displays a heavy crease running from the top to bottom edges in-between Lewis and Speaker. This crease has been reinforced in two areas by clear tape on verso which includes numerous handwritten notations, including identifications of the players, and "Red Sox Outfield 1915" written at center.
