Offered here is a beautiful two-tone silk, made by Wright and Ditson, that showcases a team panorama photo of the 1912 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox accompanied by five individual player images including (left to right): Hall of Fame pitcher Smokey Joe Wood, who went 35-4 that year with a 1.91 ERA; Tris Speaker, the Hall of Famer who batted .383 that season; Jake Stahl, the team's player/manager who batted .301 that year; third baseman Heinie Wagner; and catcher Bill Carrigan. The Red Sox won their second World Series in 1912 as they beat the New York Giants. The pennant at the bottom reads "Red Sox Champions 1912" that's positioned right above an aerial shot of the field at Fenway Park. Despite some fading on the silk and its images along with some light wrinkling, the silk is in good condition, especially when you consider its 111 years in existence. Nicely matted and framed to a finished size of approximately 26" x 26", it has incredible eye appeal as a great conversation piece from the Red Sox early glory days from more than a century ago.
