Pair of M101-2 Detroit Tigers-related Sporting News supplements.  Scarce and interesting, the premiums were issued along with copies of the Sporting News between 1909 and 1913, each only distributed on one single day, the date of issue printed in a text box on the supplement.  These are extremely condition-sensitive, printed on lightweight paper and subject to size-related wear, tears, pinholes, tape and trimming.  Collection includes the following: 1) Detroit Tigers team: issued November 18, 1909, picturing the entire team in street clothes, including Hall of Famers Sam Crawford, Hugh Jennings, and a young Ty Cobb.  Measures approximately 16 1/4" x 10" unfolded, presents as VG with some tiny edge tears, wear to the corner and a heavy crease at the fold resulting in some separation along the bottom, which makes it quite delicate.  2) George Mullin: Issued February 24, 1910, just in time for Spring Training.  Measures approximately 7 7/8" x 10" and presents as VG/EX, though paper remnants and moisture staining on the reverse (the moisture stain can be observed on the front with close examination) reduce the technical grade to POOR.  Two supplements total.
