Collection of nine 1942-46 documents related to Father Edward J. Flanagan, the Catholic priest based in Nebraska who founded the orphanage known as Boys Town, and who was portrayed by Spencer Tracy in the 1938 film of the same name. Seven of the presented documents have been signed by Father Flanagan, all of which are addressed to Mr. Bill Skiff, then manager of the Seattle Rainiers, thanking him for his donations to Father Flanagan's efforts. Three full LOA's from James Spence Authentication are included and while the remaining documents do not include LOA's, Father Flanagan's signatures do appear to be authentic. Also included are 10 "Honorary Citizen of Boys Town" cards that are referenced in the letters from Father Flanagan to Skiff. Eight of these cards appear to bear Skiff's signature though this has not been confirmed.
