1921 was the first year of issue for Exhibit Supply Company's long run of baseball issues and they started things off with a bang, issuing a series of 64 arcade cards with impressive photography front and center.  The caramel cards of the day were small and had grainy images, so when a kid got one of these big boys out of a penny machine, the effect must have been almost mind blowing in '21. This SGC 2 has some issues you might expect for the grade, but they are all fairly minor on their own and it seems an accumulation of these has led to the grade.  The image is well-contrasted and nicely centered.  Edge chipping and corner wear are seen, as are a couple of scratches.  There are some horizontal print lines and small areas of foxing, with a black drop of residue in the background.  Foxing and a light stain are seen on the reverse. Still, a striking piece from an important and popular set.
