Historic 1921 Brimingham Barons panoramic team photo featuring Hall of Fame third baseman, Pie Traynor alongside fellow major leaguers Johnny Gooch, Johnny Morrison, and Earl Whitehill. Traynor debuted for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1920, only appearing in 24 games for the Pirates between 1920-21. He then became Pittsburgh's regular third baseman in 1922, launching a Hall of Fame career that culminated with a .320 lifetime batting average and a World Series championship in 1925. Measuring 5.25" x 12.5" the offered original Type 1 photo has lost both bottom corners and appears to have been torn in two sometime during the past 100+ years. Both pieces have been neatly joined with clear tape on reverse and the separation is not immediately apparent within the central image. This separation runs from the numbers "1921" at the bottom, up to the top edge. Front and verso display evidence of scattered creasing, chipping and smudging, largely relegated to the outer extremities. A handwritten inscription appears on the right side of verso indicating Traynor appears fourth from the left in the image. From the estate of 1920's Pirates catcher, Johnny Gooch.
