Silks were a particular type of issue offered by the American Tobacco Company and were meant to be sewn onto (or into) larger objects such as pillows or blankets. Smaller versions, known in the hobby as S74's and roughly the size of a standard tobacco card, are seen in some quantity; not so their larger S81 brethren which measure about 7 x 9 inches. S81 features 25 baseball subjects and is considered a rare and desirable issue.

Speaker has four graded examples of his S81 at SGC, with this 5 exceeded by a sole 6 (PSA does not grade these). This pose of the Hall-of-Famer is the same as the one found on his T206 card and retains stunning color.  Displaying typical fraying at the top and bottom and some foxing running down the left side, this is a virtually unimprovable example from a tough set.
