SGC gives a range of dates for this particular card but the Gehrig portrait pose with Postcard back was seemingly issued in 1928. Gehrig didn't say it but the phrase "It's great to be young and a Yankee" is clearly epitomized in this smiling shot of larruping Lou. There's some edge and corner chipping while the central image of Gehrig remains bright and appealing. The creamy reverse shows the typical wear pattern associated with vintage Exhibits, with the well struck obverse's siren song being irresistible. PC back Exhibits have always been popular with collectors and very few Hall Of Famers are more popular than Gehrig.
