Following on the heels of the massive T206 set, Coupon cigarettes issued three subsets of cards out of Louisiana using images from the more well-known White Border set.  Type 2 Coupons are known for their blue captions and "20 for Five Cents" reverses and this PSA 1.5 is an exceptionally nice specimen for the grade. Seemingly dinged by the grader for a band of pinkish-red ink or staining on the reverse, the colors on this card of future Black Sox player Chick Gandil are fabulous and bright.  Some minor corner wear can be seen on a card with a very appealing look. Coupons did not have the wide distribution enjoyed by T206 and this is one of but 18 Gandil's with the Washington caption.  There are a scant 7 examples with higher grades, with none surpassing a grade of 3.
