Gorgeous original photo of the 1925 Pittsburgh Pirates, National League pennant winners and eventual World Series champions. Suffering from heavy creasing to the upper-left corner, the stunning clarity of the central image remains with the netting and grandstand crisp and clean, a police officer visible on the distant concourse standing with his arms folded. Thirty-three subjects plus a mascot are in the foreground, all in uniform save for Barney Dreyfuss and the executives (Waters and Sam Dreyfuss) that flank him. In addition to Dreyfuss the photo also includes future Hall of Famers Pie Traynor, Max Carey, Bill McKechnie, and Kiki Cuyler. A beautiful photo credited to the Photo-Craft Studios of Pittsburgh, also seen on the reverse of a highly collectible Pennsylvania Railroad dining car menu from the era. From the personal collection of longtime Baltimore-area broadcaster, Ted Patterson. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
