Bobby Thomson and Ralph Branca signatures are quite common in the hobby, as the pair befriended one another and did very well on the autograph circuit in the 1990s and early 2000s.  Early vintage signatures are a bit tougher, however, and far more desirable.  Presented here are two fully-executed AFTRA contracts, one with Branca and one with Thomson for appearance on "Kraft Music Hall," a variety program that began its life as a radio show and continued as a television series (or better described as several television series) from the 1950s through 1971.  The former major leaguers were each paid $1,000 to appear on the program.

The episode was slated to appear on September 18, 1968, with a theme of "Don Rickels' Brooklyn."  While our research has revealed Roy Campanella as a guest on the program, as well as an extensive video interview with Barbra Streisand at the premiere of the film Funny Girl, we cannot actually find a reference to Branca and Thomson actually appearing on the program.  We hope they were still paid!

The contracts appear in VG condition, each stapled together in the upper-left corner.  Each player signed their copy in blue ink, and each was also signed by the producer.  The contracts each called for an additional 10% payment to the players' representative Frank Scott.  Please note that for the purpose of our website, we have taken the liberty of placing a red mark over the section of the contract that included each player's social security number, for privacy reasons.  The numbers are clear and legible underneath.  Basic cert from James Spence Authentication on each contract.
