Tremendous 1942 letter to Samuel Goldwyn Inc, providing consent to use the image and likeness of the Boston Red Sox in the use of a "photoplay" based upon the life of Lou Gehrig. The film, of course, was Pride of the Yankees, the legendary film starring Gary Cooper, and produced by the Samuel Goldwyn Company. The letter, which presents very well save for some age-related discoloration along the right edge, two folds from mailing, and an extremely unfortunate PSA/DNA hologram decal in the lower-right corner, has been dated and signed by Hall of Famer Eddie Collins, acting on behalf of the Red Sox. A tremendous legally-binding document concerning one of the greatest baseball films ever made, signed by a popular Hall of Famer. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
