Known as a scrapper, Don Hoak earned the nickname of "Tiger" from legendary Pirates announcer Bob Prince. Coming up through the Dodgers system as a third baseman, where he would be part of the 1955 Championship team, Hoak was never able to break through as a regular and was dealt to the Cubs for 1956. Off to the Reds for 1957, he earned his only All-Star nod and was a Pirate for 1959, winning a second ring in 1960. He finished with the Phillies in 1964 and embarked on a second career as a coach.  He died of a heart attack in 1969 at the age of 41. As you can imagine, he's a fairly hard signature to obtain.  Theis SGC/JSA reviewed 1953 Topps example has been deemed Authentic and is nicely signed in blue ballpoint.
