Nice looking 1953 Topps card of Paul "Dizzy" Trout, with some off-entering present, quite appropriate given his propensity to play the joker. Goofy and maybe a bit scary, the portrait painted here captures his off-kilter personality in a way a photograph simply could not. A durable, winning pitcher for Detroit over 14 seasons, Trout was traded to the Red sox in the middle of the 1952 season and then retired, although he staged a brief comeback in 1957 with Baltimore. He's signed with his nickname here, and superbly, in black ballpoint and, as one would expect, with some zest. PSA/DNA Authentic and a tough signature in general as Trout died in 1972. One of just five signed examples in PSA/DNA's database.
