Topps was in a rush for their first series in 1952 amidst the chaos depicted outfielder Jim Russell as Boston Brave despite identifying him as a Dodger. To compound matters, he had been with Brooklyn since 1950 and then spent the 1952 and 1953 seasons in the PCL. The specimen seen here has a tilt and some corner wear and a small surface crease, with nicely mostly subtle, colors. The autograph is deftly executed in blue, authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, one of just nine examples so authenticated.
