Gil Hodges looks pretty happy here but he would end his 1952 campaign by going 0-21 in the World Series, prompting prayers from at least one Brooklyn pulpit on a sunlit October morning. His 1952 Topps card is a coral delight and while centered low here, looks quite wonderful, with a clean surface and square corners.  His blue ink signature is superb, authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA. Hodges died young at age 47, leaving precious few examples of his signed '52 Topps; PSA/DNA has authenticated just 16, an extremely low number for a Hall of Famer.
